This guide explains how to use the database management panel of the dashboard to create a database.
Databases are all in the MySQL format. For other types of databases, upgrade to the premium plan and use the premium cPanel to create a database.
From the website's dashboard, select 'SQL Databases' from the sidebar to open the database management panel.
You should see a page that looks like this:
To create a database, simply enter the desired name into the input field, and click submit.
Please note that the actual database name will incorporate your hosting username (for example entering the name 'database' would result in yourusername_database).
The database should appear in the 'My SQL Databases' table. The database column shows the database's name (you'll need this to connect to it in PHP, for example) and the actions column shows two buttons: phpMyAdmin and delete.
phpMyAdmin is a database management tool, and following the link will auto-login to it. Please note this button is the only way to access phpMyAdmin. If you want to be able to quickly access databases, simply copy the link address of the phpMyAdmin button.
If you would like to learn how to use phpMyAdmin, please refer to the phpMyAdmin section of this knowledgebase.
The delete button, as the name suggests, deletes the database. Note this action is irreversible.
